This is the companion website of the Emmy® Award‑winning documentary Sam Houston: American Statesman, Soldier, and Pioneer. It extends the film with historical context — people, places, artifacts, myths and legends, a timeline and a gallery — along with free educational resources for teachers, students and families, and a page to order the DVD.
The website is a complement to the film. It is meant to help you explore the story further, not to replace the documentary.
The content was prepared with care and is offered for general educational purposes. History is often interpreted in different ways, and new research can change what we know, so the information is provided “as is” without a guarantee that it is complete or free of errors. If you spot something that should be corrected, we would be glad to hear from you.
